An outline of endocrine disrupting chemicals and the influencing hormones: what the human society ought to know?

چکیده
Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are exogenous that interfere with hormones action, thereby increasing the risk of adverse health outcomes, including cancer, reproductive impairment, cognitive deficits and obesity. A complex literature mechanistic studies provides evidence on hazards EDC exposure, yet there is no widely accepted systematic method to integrate these data help identify hazards. Significant advances in research into endocrine-disrupting their effects have elevated concerns recent years about among a number international scientific organizations. The reviewed here knowledge EDC’s scientists can use inform decision-making processes.

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals: an Endocrine Society scientific statement.
There is growing interest in the possible health threat posed by endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), which are substances in our environment, food, and consumer products that interfere with hormone biosynthesis, metabolism, or action resulting in a deviation from normal homeostatic control or reproduction. In this first Scientific Statement of The Endocrine Society, we present the evidence t...

What Everyone Ought to Know
WVHAT EVERYONE OUGHT TO KNOW. By Oliver T. Osborne. Charles C. Thomas, Springfield, Ill. This is a book on health, disease and accident, and should enable the fifteen-minute-a-day reader to talk impressively about a variety of things without thoroughly understanding any of them. One who is reasonably familiar with the fields of biology may wonder if it is useful to present to laymen a variety o...

The idea that xenobiotic chemicals could inappropriately modlate the endocrine system thereby causing detrimental effects n wildlife and humans was first proposed 20 years ago at the atershed Wingspread Conference [1,2]. These endocrine disruptng chemicals (EDCs) have long been controversial, with a great eal of discussion raging in the scientific literature. Much of this ontroversy has centere...
متن کاملCryptorchidism and endocrine disrupting chemicals
Prospective clinical studies have suggested that the rate of congenital cryptorchidism has increased since the 1950s. It has been hypothesized that this may be related to environmental factors. Testicular descent occurs in two phases controlled by Leydig cell-derived hormones insulin-like peptide 3 (INSL3) and testosterone. Disorders in fetal androgen production/action or suppression of Insl3 a...
